The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company is composed of approximately 48 artists, screen printers, art technicians, logistics professionals, embroiderers, and support staff, all operating out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. We've got company soccer and kickball teams, catered employee lunches, health insurance, a 401k match, and quarterly company parties around town. While we believe in treating our employees with respect as a matter of course, it also makes good business sense. Our products are designed, printed, and embroidered in-house at our Ann Arbor, MI factory. The company grew from a dorm room project between two friends at the University of Michigan. What makes our products unique is the way we prioritize our workers, sourcing, and production processes.

Our employees receive fair wages, healthcare benefits, 401k matches, and catered meals. The machines, inks, and most of our raw materials are U.S. sourced, and the shirts are mostly made from U.S. grown cotton. Producing everything in-house allows us to maintain high quality and keep prices low.

The fabric type is 100% Cotton, and the care instructions are machine wash. The shirts are made in the USA and imported. They have a pull-on closure type.

This particular design was drawn and screen printed (silk screened) with pride by our skilled illustrators and printers in Ann Arbor. The shirts have a unisex modern fit, slightly tapered to be a little less boxy than the old style of mass-market t-shirts. Most people wear the same size in our shirts as their other clothes, but you might want to go one size larger if you're unsure. The shirts are pre-shrunk, but like any high-cotton product, will still shrink slightly in the wash. The model photos show the actual shirt on our salesperson, Rich, who is 6'2", 200 lbs, and wearing a large.

The shirts are made from a ringspun, 30/1 fine jersey knit on 100% USA-grown cotton. This means they are soft and smooth with a high thread-count, tight knit made from fuzzy plants grown by American farmers. These are mid-weight shirts - a bit lighter than your mass-market, thick gym class t-shirts, but substantial and not see-through.

We use high quality QCM screen printing inks, manufactured in Pineville, North Carolina. These inks are vibrant, durable, and highly crack resistant. QCM has been an industry leader, going phthalate-free over ten years ago. The inks are CFC free and rated as carcinogen-free by the state of California.
